The OP is back this spring, with some new tunes, new shows, and new instruments – in the way that a vocalist refers to his or her voice as an instrument. And well they should, as we’re lucky to be joined at our next gig by Mark Ford and Typhanie Monique on vocals. They’ll be joining us, along with Avo Randruut and his DePaul African Ensemble on Friday, March 3 at the beautiful DePaul Concert Hall.

Distant Planets, Dark Room
No, it’s not a planetarium (though that would be a fun show). It’s a night of afrotronica brought to you by Soulphonetics, Windimoto, and The Opposition Party:

Euforic Martyrs Date
The OP is psyched to be opening up for Colorado’s afro-reggae sextet, Euforquestra (euphoric orchestra) on September 14. Head over to their site to download their latest album. We think it sounds great, and we’re looking forward to a night of afrobeat and reggae, horns and percussion, and good vibes.
See our shows page for more info.
Demo Drops!
Ten musicians. Dozens of mics. A gallery loft. Hours of mixing. Hours more of design.
The result: The Opposition Party – Live At Primitive, our first demo, recorded, produced, mixed, and designed by The OP us-selves.
Check out the result at the music page.
