New Website

May 12th, 2010

Welcome to The Opposition Party’s new website!  We’ve updated it with a new design and, as you may notice, a blog-esque format.  We’ll be posting about music / cultural happenings in Chicago (and beyond), including new gigs and developments with the band, and many of our side projects.

For now, check out some of the new features: our links section has a lot of good stuff right now, and you might want to head over to the music page to listen to some tracks from our new live demo, hot off the press and produced entirely by The OP and some friends (thanks, Frost).

Demo Drops!

May 11th, 2010

Ten musicians.  Dozens of mics.  A gallery loft.  Hours of mixing.  Hours more of design.

The result: The Opposition Party – Live At Primitive, our first demo, recorded, produced, mixed, and designed by The OP us-selves.

Check out the result at the music page.

Thanks, DePaul African Ensemble

March 8th, 2010

We want to thank Avo Randruut and the DePaul African Ensemble for hosting us at the March 5 concert at the DePaul Concert Hall.  We were thrilled with the fine reception from the crowd, and it was definitely a highlight to perform the closing number with the Ensemble and watch some master percussionists trade rhythms.
